Bharata Mata College
has been hosting an annual series of commemorative lectures since
2001, to honour the memory of its founder patron, the late Joseph
Cardinal Parecattil. The Memorial Lectures are delivered by men of
national standing, on topics, which are very relevant to our times.
The lectures are conducted under the auspices of the Cardinal
Parecattil Foundation, which has the Manager of Bharata Mata College
as President, the Principal as Secretary and the Bursar as
treasurer.
The first
memorial lecture was held on 21st July 2001 by Rt.Rev.Dr.Lgnaci
Muthu, Hon.Vice-Chancellor of Bharatiyar University Coimbatore on
the topic 'Environmental Pollution -A Threat to Human Survival'. The
second memorial lecture was delivered by B.Ekbal, Hon. Vice
Chancellor of Kerala University. The Topic was the Impact of
Information Technology on Kerala Society.
